The show was a celebrity-studded tribute in honor of John Legend and aired in October 2001, just one month after the devastating terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.

The star-studded event saw Cyndi Lauper performing one song “Strawberry Fields Forever” that was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon and performed by the Beatles. The show was hosted by Kevin Spacey who also performed a song.
