R. Kelly is doing everything in his power to get out of prison, however, his most recent concern is the attack from a fellow inmate. The former performing artist was reportedly attacked by an inmate while he slept but the R&B star no longer has to worry about him.

Reportedly, federal prosecutors just filed their response to R. Kelly‘s latest request to get out on bail after a man attacked him in the Chicago MCC. Kelly complained that the incident could’ve led to his death, however, TMZ says the government told him it’s already over and it won’t happen again.

Documents obtained by the outlet appear to show the federal government claiming that the incident was an isolated one, and it won’t happen again because the perpetrator was moved to another prison in Michigan. In other words, the government believes the threat has been extinguished.

R. Kelly and his legal team also claimed the attacker told a doctor at the prison that he needed to go after Kelly for attention. The doctor allegedly denied the conversation ever took place.

The reason for the government’s unwillingness to release him on bail has to do with the singer-songwriter’s reputation.

He has been deemed as a threat to the public as well as a flight risk, so they won’t allow him to be released on bail. The Shade Room revealed earlier in the month that Kelly was attacked in his cell while protestors rallied outside of the jail, which led to the institution’s shutdown.

Page Six was the first to report that Kelly’s attackers had the words, “F*ck the Feds” tattooed on his face and also tried to stab the singer with a pen. Steven Greenberg, his attorney, says the inmate rushed into his cell at night and began stomping on his head while he was sleeping.

The convict also had an ink pen in his possession which he planned to use to stab Kelly. However, other inmates grabbed him before he was able to use it. Greenberg reportedly stated that the man in question was the type of person who shouldn’t be allowed around Kelly ever.
